About Jim Jopling, El Paso Divorce Lawyer

El Paso Divorce Lawyer Jim Jopling: I practice divorce law and other aspects of family law in El Paso, Texas. I am an experienced trial attorney, having litigated in courts throughout Texas for over 13 years.

In addition to practicing family law, I try cases involving labor law, real estate law and commercial law. I advocate for creditor's rights in bankruptcy court and state court. I am also a staff attorney for The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), an organization that provides legal services to law enforcement personnel throughout Texas.

I graduated from St. Mary's University School of Law, where I served as an associate editor on the St. Mary's Law Journal. I also participated actively in the school's advocacy programs, placing first in the Freshman Mock Trial competition and winning the Walker Moot Court Best Brief competition. In recognizition of my achievements in advocacy, I was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. I also served as an intern at the Supreme Court of Texas.

I am licensed to practice in the state of Texas and in the United States District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts for the Western District of Texas. I am a member of the El Paso County Family Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and the El Paso Bar Association. I am on the Board of Directors for the El Paso County Trial Lawyers Association and serve as Treasurer for the Border Bankruptcy Bar Association.
